Rub well over the palms, back of hands, fingernails and grooves briskly, until dry. No water required after use. - Before wearing sterile gloves, when inserting catheters or other invasive devices Before moving from a contaminated site to a clean site during patient care
- After contact with body fluids or excretions, mucous membranes, non-intact skin and wound dressings, if hands are not visibly soiled
- After contact with inanimate objects (including medical equipment) in the immediate vicinity of the patient
